Announced Gay To Applause

fans at Carnegie Hall on Friday night when she answered one young reader’s question about Dumbledore by saying
that he was gay and had been in love with Grindelwald…” The AP goes on, “the news brought gasps, then applause
at Carnegie Hall…” Melissa Anelli, the webmaster of the fan site http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org, said, “Jo Rowling
calling any Harry Potter character gay would make wonderful strides in tolerance toward homosexuality.” She
continued, “By dubbing someone so respected, so talented and so kind, as someone who happens to be also
homosexual, she’s reinforcing the idea that a person’s gayness is not something which they should be ashamed.” It
is these comments which will now be addressed.
It would seem that those who are promoters of the homosexual agenda have certainly targeted our children,
once again. While it is admitted that many Harry Potter fans are older, the majority remains young in age. In fact, it is
reported that the initial question, which prompted the homosexual respond, was from a “young reader.” It is well
known that the younger a person’s age the easier it is to influence him. Hence, the homosexual activists try
everything possible to lead our youth away from the straight and narrow, and down the wide and broadening way of
destruction.
It is sad, indeed, that the announcement of a children’s book character being homosexual would receive
applause. Isaiah the prophet wrote, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light,
and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter” (5:20). This applause is proof that our society
has reached such a point, hence “woe unto them.” Though those in our country call homosexuality good, the Bible
remains constant in its authoritative affirmation that it is sin, which most certainly will be punished unless those guilty
repent. In Romans 1:18 we read, “for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men.” The same context reveals, “even their women did change the natural use into that which
is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward
another; men with men working that which is unseemly.” What is the end result of this behavior? The answer is given
in verse 32, “that they which commit such things are worthy of death.” In 1 Timothy 1 homosexuality in placed in the
same category with “murderers” when Paul wrote of them that “defile themselves with mankind” (vs.9, 10). These
phrase is translated from a word which means: one who lies with a male as with a female, a sodomite, a homosexual.
Despite God’s condemnation against such behavior, our society applauds it as something that should be “tolerat[ed]
and something about which a person “should [not] be ashamed.” Remember the words of God through the prophet
Jeremiah, “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither
could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time [that] I visit them they shall be cast down,
saith the LORD” (Jer 6:15).
Why has God condemned such behavior? Because it is destructive to society. Former Harvard anthropologist
Standly Kurtz, writer for the Weekly Standard, reports that various studies have shown that “homosexual marriages
weaken the family structure.”
It is a sad day when a children’s author can write in a homosexual character and have people applaud it as
something that should be accepted. I am not suggesting a boycott of the books or movies, for that is so something
that each person, and each parent will have to decide. But, I am suggesting that we be aware of society’s attempt to
overthrow everything godly, and how they have focused on our children.
